Stage Mechanics Work
Structure Construction and Installation
The first phase included the installation of basic elements of stage mechanics. Given that the stage ceiling did not have the necessary support elements, a steel structure was designed and installed to support the stage equipment, anchored to the building walls. This structure was designed in accordance with all static requirements, ensuring the safety and durability of the installations.
Portal Bridge and Walk Galleries
One of the key elements of the first phase was the installation of the portal bridge, which serves as the central part of the stage structure. This bridge is connected to the first walk gallery surrounding the stage, allowing free movement of technical staff and improving the space’s functionality. Upon completion of the second phase, the portal towers will further enhance the stage’s functionality, facilitating variable stage setups and other activities.
Main Curtain, Backdrops, and Additional Stage Equipment
As part of the stage equipment, a red main curtain made of flame-retardant fabric, with an electric motor drive, was installed, meeting all relevant safety standards. In addition to the main curtain, backdrops and soffits made of the same material were installed to achieve visual unity in the stage opening. Black stage curtains – legs and border – were also installed to improve light control on the stage.
Side Lighting Supports and Lighting Hoist
To improve lighting in the audience area, side supports were installed, carrying the stage spotlights for side frontal lighting. Additionally, a motorized lighting hoist, which can be retracted into the ceiling, was installed to carry the front spotlights, allowing for various lighting effects during performances.
Distribution Cabinet RO-SM
In this phase, the RO-SM distribution cabinet, used for powering and controlling stage mechanics devices, was manufactured, delivered, and installed. Currently, it is connected to the drives for the main curtain and the motorized hoist, while the remaining equipment will be connected during the second phase.
Stage Lighting Work
Electrical Installations for Stage Lighting
During the first phase, the electrical installations were completed to fully meet the requirements for LED lighting, as specified by the end user. DMX lines were run from the rack cabinet to all planned lighting zones, allowing control of the front, side, and rear lighting on the stage and proscenium.
Stage Equipment Power Supply
The power supply for stage lighting and other stage equipment is provided via the GRO-S distribution cabinet, through connection boxes and parapet panels, ensuring a secure and stable electrical connection.
Delivery of Spotlights and Console
In this phase, 18 LED stage spotlights from the brand Prolights were delivered, providing dynamic stage lighting. These spotlights are controlled via the QuickQ-30 console from Chamsys, ensuring precise lighting control.
Training and Handover
Before the official handover of the completed work, training was organized for technical staff, who were equipped to manage the new stage mechanics and lighting system. The training covered all relevant aspects of using the new equipment, preparing the technical staff for continued operation.
The first phase of work on the stage mechanics and lighting system at Cultural Center “Sveti Stefan, despot srpski” (“Saint Stefan, Serbian Despot”) laid the foundation for the complete functionality of the stage. In the second phase of the project, additional stage equipment will be installed, allowing for even greater technical flexibility and the enhancement of cultural events in Despotovac.
