ELECTRIC POWER INDUSTRY

Elektrovat’s largest partner, both as an investor and as an end user, is the Joint Stock Company “Elektroprivreda Srbije,” Serbia’s state-owned electric power company and the largest company in Serbia. The core activities of EPS AD are the production, supply, and trading of electrical energy. Elektrovat has a particularly high level of cooperation and a significant volume of work with the following EPS branches: Nikola Tesla Thermal Power Plants, Kostolac Thermal Power Plants and Mines, and Đerdap Hydroelectric Power Plants.

“Nikola Tesla Thermal Power Plants” Branch

TENT A

The “Nikola Tesla Thermal Power Plants” Branch is the largest producer of electrical energy in Southeast Europe. It has 14 units with a total installed capacity of 3,429.5 MW. Four of the five organizational units of TENT are thermal power plants: TENT A in Obrenovac, with 6 units and a total capacity of 1,765.5 MW; TENT B in Ušće, with two units of 650 MW each; TPP “Kolubara” in Veliki Crljeni, with 5 units and a total capacity of 271 MW; and TPP “Morava” in Svilajnac, with one 125 MW unit.
At TENT facilities, Elektrovat has carried out dozens of reference projects, the most significant of which include: electrical installation works and commissioning of equipment on the electrostatic precipitators of units A4, A6, B1, and B2, including the development of software for PLCs and SCADA systems and commissioning of the systems for automatic operation; electrical installation works on the gypsum suspension reception project; electrical installation works on the reconstruction of the electrical power supply for pumping stations at the ash disposal site; electrical installation works for the Cassette 4 Project, including the development of application software for the SCADA system and PLC controllers and system commissioning; electrical installation works on hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage facilities; construction of new transformer substations and reconstruction of existing transformer substations; and many others.

“Kostolac Thermal Power Plants and Mines” Branch

The “Đerdap Hydroelectric Power Plants” Branch includes, among others, the “Đerdap 1” hydroelectric and navigation system, with a total installed capacity of 1,140 MW; the “Đerdap 2” hydroelectric power plant, with an installed capacity of 270 MW; HPP “Pirot,” with an installed capacity of 80 MW; and the Vlasina power plants — four hydroelectric power plants, “Vrla 1,” “Vrla 2,” “Vrla 3,” and “Vrla 4,” with a total installed capacity of over 128 MW.
The most significant project carried out by Elektrovat was certainly the electrical works on the reconstruction and modernization of the auxiliary power supply system of HPP “Đerdap 1.” This included the development of the Main Design for the reconstruction of the auxiliary power supply system; delivery and installation of three 15.75 kV withdrawable vacuum circuit breakers; installation of 6.3 kV MCset Schneider Electric switchgear, consisting of 29 cubicles; production, delivery, and installation of three low-voltage systems with Prisma SF Schneider Electric withdrawable circuit breakers; delivery and installation of a sheet metal transformer substation 1×1000 kVA, 10/0.4 kV; installation of a 1000 kVA diesel generator set; production, delivery, and installation of PLC cabinets; development of application software for the PLC, application software for the SCADA system, Panel PC, and Wall Screen, as well as upgrades to the application software of existing systems for integration into a common control system. Other projects worth mentioning include electrical installation works at HPP Pirot — reconstruction of DC and uninterruptible power supply systems and installation of 10 kV switchgear, including modifications and upgrades to the existing SCADA application — as well as electrical works on dozens of pumping stations and drainage systems along the Danube and Sava riverbanks.

Other Projects

Elektrovat has also carried out electrical works on HPP “Ovčar Banja” and HPP “Međuvršje” within the “Drina-Lim Hydroelectric Power Plants” Branch.

Among other projects related to the electric power industry, the electrical installation works on the construction of transformer substation TS Škaljari 35/10 kV, 2×12.5 MVA, should be highlighted. The investor was Elektroprivreda Crne Gore AD. The electrical works included the installation of two 12.5 MVA, 35/10 kV transformers; 35 kV F400 withdrawable metal-clad switchgear with 10 cubicles; 10 kV MC SET 4 withdrawable metal-clad switchgear with 26 cubicles; parameterization of microprocessor protection devices on the 35 kV switchgear, consisting of 9 units, and on the 10 kV switchgear, consisting of 23 units; installation and commissioning of the station computer cabinet with SCADA control and monitoring system; and installation of general high-current and low-current electrical systems for the transformer substation.
